I started this blog to channel my thoughts on all things baseball. I spend way too much of my time thinking and talking about the game not to put my ideas to good use (as good as a random internet blog can be anyway). I am not a fan of any particular team, although I am undeniably more familiar with certain organizations than others, and in that regard I may seem somewhat partial. I will do my best to acknowledge any bias I have.
I hope that my thoughts provoke some disagreement, informed discussion, analysis and education for all involved, especially me. I am not an insider of any kind, nor am I a scout or talent evaluator. I will express opinions about player development/projection, but these are not meant to take the place of the better informed individuals at Baseball America, Baseball Prospectus and Fangraphs. I cannot recommend strongly enough subscriptions to BA and BP, as these sites provide as much access as us outsiders can possibly expect. I am an avid reader of these sites, and when applicable I will give credit where it is due.
The site is primarily devoted to transactions throughout the year, as I find roster construction and player development the most interesting aspect of the sport. I will occasionally deviate into other subject matter, such as the draft or prospects, but I can’t guarantee any content aside from transaction analysis.
I will devote this last paragraph to personal info about me, since I think that is the least important aspect of the site (although I guess writing my thoughts with the expectation that someone would ever read them is indicative of enough narcissism that we both know I don’t mind sharing my background). I am an attorney, living in San Diego and finding my way through the world. I have worked in minor league baseball and may end up there again, as my passion and enthusiasm for the game of baseball has been the only consistent force in my life.
